The Haskell Ag Lab held their annual Winter Fest on Dec. 7, 2024. This year's Winter Fest focused on winter preparedness for you and your landscapes. Kim Bearnes, the Stanton County Extension Educator, presented on Winter Preparedness. Here is a link to the handout. The second presentation was led by ian peterson, HLES Extension Educator. He spoke about the impact of winter storms on our landscapes, as well as how to keep our landscapes thriving in mild winters.

Also this year, Pam Bergstrom, Agroforester with the Nebraska Forestry Service, led a greenery centerpiece workshop. Participants learned about different types of greenery and how to identify the species by the boughs. The centerpieces were made by using a tree cookie as a base and a small wreath to go around a decorated vase.
