Thank you to everyone that has participated in our Coffee & Conversations series. We have decided to discontinue this series but stay on the lookout for other upcoming events at the Haskell Ag Lab!

 
Previous Speakers:
  • January 2025: Agricultural Economist, Jim Jansen, covers the latest trends in farmland values, cash rental rates, and lease agreements across the state for 2025. The discussion covered cash rental rates for both dryland and irrigated cropland, as well as grazing land rental rates in northeast Nebraska.
  • Kristie Freudenburg from the Lower Elkhorn NRD spoke about the LB 1368 Nitrogen Reduction Incentive Program. She covered the program details, cost-share rates, and the Lower Elkhorn NRD’s policy and application. Recording is available on our Facebook page.   • Shay Scollard spoke on weather emergency preparedness.
  • Katie Gannon, Outreach Coordinator, from Haven House presented on domestic violence (DV) and dug deeper into the services Haven House has performed. This included some basic information about DV, the measures you can take to protect yourself and others, their stats from last year, and how the community can be involved with Haven House. She has wish lists, crisis line information, and other DV prevention materials available online.   • Sharon Boechnehauer from the Dixon County Historical Society was the featured speaker and presented information on the exhibits, 5 buildings on their complex, and materials they have for research including records of county churches, schools, and genealogical resources. She also highlighted a few items that were donated to the Historical Society by Roy and Shirley Stohler and a quilt from Anna Marie (Kreifels) White who were both employed at HAL.
